Prokhodnoye Gorge (Alma-Arasan)

A mountain gorge southwest of Almaty at 1,780 metres, on the northern slope of the Ile Alatau. The Prokhodnaya River, a tributary of the Bolshaya Almatinka, runs through it. At 3,609 metres the gorge ends at a pass.
